The young shinigami sat in the grassy field on his own, his legs crossed and his zanpakuto resting across his legs. He had found himself in this position many times after zanpakuto communication class. He generally struggled to meet and speak with other shinigami so he would withdraw into himself, as such; Rekka-Boufuu was generally the easiest person to talk to. She understood him, of course she did, she was a part of him, likely the best part of him. She was his strength, his passion, she was his closest friend. A peaceful looking smile formed across his features as he thought about her. “Ah, thank you, I am glad you chose me to be your master, with you at my side, I know I have nothing to fear.” A gentle sigh escaped his lips as he felt himself draw further and further into himself. His eye’s flicked gently under his eyelids. inward breath He felt himself going deeper into the world, outward breath He could feel the gentle breeze filter through the trees. Inward breath He could hear the sound of the water as it flowed so gently under the bridge. Outward breath He opened his eyes and he stood upon the wooden bridge looking out onto the woodland surrounding his inner world. As he leaned upon it, his headphones still covering his ears, except with no music filtering through, he allowed his playful smile to return to his features. “Now, my love, where do you hide? Or is the object of this lesson to come and find you?” He could feel her, so he knew she was around there somewhere, it wouldn’t take him long to sense her out and find her. Though he knew if he decided not to play, she would get pissy and go in search of him. The thought broadened his grin, she made him laugh, and especially in times that she was angry with him, mostly because he knew it would pass so quickly that he would barely be given a chance to counter. He stepped away from the ledge of the bridge, sliding his hands into his pockets before walking down the right side of it onto the grass. He closed his eyes and began feeling for her, his tongue licking across his lips. “Come out come out wherever you are!” Edited by Shruikan, Oct 16 2011, 06:57 PM.

Ryuken went out into the fields in order to freshen himself up. It had been a while since he had taken a rest worthy to be called a rest. As he stepped out of the door of the Academy, he let out a big yawn. “Ahhhh. This is nice… no pollution… no cars… just good old Soul Society with as much nature as one can imagine. I’ve always wondered what it’d be like if there were no more cars and all the such.” Ryuken stooped low to feel the fresh green grass he had walked onto and felt the remainder of the morning dew that had yet to burn off. As he felt the ground, he noticed that some grass had been flattened and that a large patch of grass did not contain any of the morning dew that it should have. Curious of what or who caused this, Ryuken followed the trail that went down hill. Ryuken looked closely at the tracks and it would seem that they belonged to a human. Following closely behind the trail of footsteps left behind, he stopped for a second. “Terashi… what do you think. It seems we can play a game of cat and mouse. It’d be a bit fun…” Terashi was the soul that embodied his Zanpaktou. He was a the God of Time, or so he claimed to be. A booming voice came to answer Ryuken. “You make simple things interesting. I agree, let’s follow the trail.. Young one.” Ryuken smiled and continued to follow the trail. He went slowly, but nonetheless, he went. He was acting like a cat, playing with his food, ready to pounce. Playfully, Ryuken took steps towards the bridge, walking ever so slowly, attempting to catch the man who had left this trail. He stopped right before the incline towards the bottom of the bridge. “Oy… You there, under the bridge… What are you doing out here?” he asked. Ryuken’s smirk had left his face when he saw that he too was chasing after something. Ryuken’s ability to change from one emotion to another was astonishing. He could act one way and then another. But Ryuken wasn’t one to attack without notice. No, he would formally ask for a spar. That was the Takashima, Ryuken way, but having his little fun on the way didn’t hurt. “Though might I ask… that if you don’t mind my company, sir…?” Ryuken extended his arm forward and bowed slightly to make a notion of peace. If he had a hat on, he’d tip it down as well, but such was not part of the Shinigami outfit that he was assigned and thus no hat tip was extended. “How rude of me… I should give my name before I ask for anothers… My name is Takashima, Ryuken.” |

He had been pretending to search for her for a small period of time now, not truly putting any effort into his detective work. A peaceful smile befell his face as he wondered under the bridge and just sat down leaning against it to keep himself steady. He clicked on his music player, and started humming away to himself, knowing that Rekka-Boufuu would show herself at some point or another. He was somewhat content knowing that she was there watching him, and knowing that he was frustrating the hell out of her by not playing her game. The smile continued to play at his lips as he heard footsteps coming his way, expecting it to be his zanpakuto spirit, oddly surprised to find it to be another shinigami, he hadn’t expected to hear from anyone else out here. He glanced up, moving the headphones from his ears so he could hear what the man was saying. The entire situation felt odd to him, awoken from his meditation and communication by someone else actually coming to talk to him, it was a rarity anyone spoke to him normally, even more odd when they spoke to him while he was with Rekka-Boufuu. Not that he minded, it was good to have someone to talk to that wasn’t a spirit in your mind, or your gut. Come to think of it, where did the inner word reside? He glanced to his zanpakuto with a confused look on his face for a moment, then glanced back knowing just how stupid he must look. “Who me? I’m just relaxing, taichou hasn’t asked anything of me today, so figured why not taking in the sights... which turned into why not have a nap under a bridge” The shinigami seemed to sound quite serious, Ken’ichi wasn’t completely devoid of knowing that tone in a person, he had gotten it from his teachers at the academy and even from his captain in the fifth squad. He rubbed the back of his neck for a moment as he decided wither or not he should stand up and regard the person in a more direct fashion rather than his rather lazy way of glancing up from the ground. He stood up and dusted off his hakama, getting rid of any grass that may have clung onto it and then looked towards Ryuken once more with a peaceful smile. “You wish to hang around with me?” He pointed up at himself with a look of shock in his wide open eyes and gapping mouth. It was so rare that anyone actually was near Ken’ichi by choice, he was a bit of an anomaly, and most people just generally thought of him as a lazy good for nothing that would rather lay around and do nothing than actually do something that might constitute as constructive. He gave a nod, and a slight bow of his own before speaking. “Ryozen, Ken’ichi, pleasure to meet you Ryu!” |

Ryuken carefully watched his colleague’s movements. He seemed a bit more lax than most other Shinigami he knew. The answer that he got from this man was interesting. Truth be told, Ryuken was thinking of taking a nap as well, if it weren’t for the fact that he wanted to play a little game to entertain himself. Peace was boring… good, but boring. He really wished to fight some hollows and all of that, but he guessed that the best there was to do was to make some friends. That or it was do more chores for the taichou and for the rest of the squad. Being unseated was probably the worst job description there was. He was given the worst of tasks: scrubbing toilets, walking the dog, restocking the kitchen. Pointless, irrational, stupid, disgusting tasks that a normal soul could do, but budget cuts forced the Central 46 to give all tedious duties to the lower seats. Since it was thought that they weren’t all that powerful, such tasks could be done and their training time could be allotted elsewhere. Ryuken thought that the Central 46 just loved keeping their current staff members and honestly didn’t care for anyone that was less than the 10th seat. Whether that was true was beyond him, but he liked to believe he was right. “Yes, if that’s not a problem for you… I’d rather get away from the main buildings at the moment… at least then I don’t have to do lame things they ask me to do anyways… I wish they’d just send me to dispatch of some hollows or something… at least I’ll feel like I’m doing something productive…” He was shocked to see him ask the question is such surprise. It seemed like he had intruded on his private time, but he guessed it wasn’t too much of a hassle for the man in front of him. He guessed that he enjoyed the company, he just rarely got it. Ryuken pondered whether he’d fancy a spar, but he would wait for an opportune time to ask him. Delving straight into things wasn’t to Ryuken’s liking. He liked to get into things gradually and get to know the person before he would spar against them. One’s personal likes and dislikes, personality and such were key to winning and losing in a fight. Exploit the weakness and take down the opponent. That’s what he learned as a Quincy, and yet he died doing so. Sometimes, weak points were difficult to exploit, and some were near impossible to find. “I hope I wasn’t intruding on your R&R. I’d hate to be a bother just to keep myself entertained.” Ryuken proceeded to sit down next to Ken’ichi. He removed his Zanpaktou and blank Zanpaktou from his belt and leaned it against himself and hugged it close to him. “By the way… what Squad are you in? I’m in the 8th division… Unseated” |

He was being careful watched, he could see the look in the guys eyes as he stood and moved. It was again a look he was used to, most didn’t believe he could be as relaxed as he was. It was easy to be, he didn’t let things over complicate his life, he came and done his job and then chilled with Rekka-Boufuu. He scratched the back of his head for a moment, just watching the guy, seeing if he could figure the man out. He was a shinigami, a serious look in his eyes, but he didn’t seem to be the kind to just want to fight fight fight, so he was clearly not of the eleventh division. Hell by the looks of things he was out here doing exactly as Ken’ichi had been doing, trying to relax, play a game or something. The smile remained on his face, the same one he generally had constantly spread across his features. “Of course not, I’m not a superior or nothing so it’s not like I can tell you were you can be or can’t. and you know what, the company will be good.” And there it was, he did wish to be sent out to fight hollows. By the sounds of it not in the way the eleventh wish to, but he wanted to be out fighting and doing productive things. Ken’ichi was different in that sense, he was happy to just lay around, and hopefully avoid the superiors who would force him to do something like clean up the squad grounds or do some other menial, pointless or annoying task that would keep him from napping. He had always been told he had potential, that there was strength there, hell most of his teachers had expect something big from him considering how quickly and early he was able to commune with his zanpakuto, but even back then he hadn’t pushed to find out her name. He figured he’d find out when they were both ready, there was no point trying to rush into anything, it wasn’t as if he was going to all of a sudden be boosted higher up into the ranks. “Fighting hollows, eh? I haven’t been to the world of the living since I learned Rekka-Boufuu’s name. I like to think it’s due to the fact I’m still healing, but in truth, it’s more a lack of wanting to go back to it. Taichou seems more than happy to have me scurrying about up here anyway, so why push it?” The smile remained upon his features for a few moments, he was aware that he must have come across as a complete idiot in that moment not to mention a lazy good for nothing. He didn’t mind too much, the less people expected of him the better. The only person he had to prove anything to was himself, he was a capable fighter, he knew this, and since learning the name of his zanpakuto he had become even stronger, but he didn’t want to just dance around and go on about how strong he was, and he didn’t wish to fight unless there was a good reason. If he was sent to earth to protect Plus’s, then sure he would go serious and fight with all he had, but he wasn’t going to walk around Soul Society like that, or even requesting to be sent down. “No no, not at all. Never intruding. If I was truly asleep, or out of it, I’m pretty sure there would have been nothing you could have done to wake me from it anyway. I’m of the fifth division; unseated… work’s better that way.” He sat down next to Ryuken, leaning his head against the bridge, letting a quiet sigh escape his lips. “I don’t remember seeing you in the academy, have you been in the gotei long?” |

Ryuken was relieved to hear him say that he wasn’t much of a bother. He was in fact quite glad, since he didn’t like intruding on people’s business unless he deemed it absolutely necessary. The man answered his questions easily and relaxed. He was surprised to hear someone in the same shoes as he, unseated. He didn’t expect to meet someone who was unseated as well; then again the chances of him doing so were high, since 80% of the Gotei 13 were unseated. Ryuken sighed as he was talking about the living world. He knew that there were hollows there that needed dispatching, but could do nothing about them. As a former Quincy, it was only as such to worry about the well-being of those who you once had sworn to protect. “I haven’t been back to the real world since my death, and to answer your question, I haven’t been dead for very long. 5 years ago was when I met my demise, and as such that’s the last time I saw a hollow. So I’ve only been in the Gotei for 4 to 5 years. Not really the most amazing of things those 5 years.” Ryuken remembered the past of hunting hollows with hollow bait and his arrows. He also remembered being a wealthy surgeon and yet he didn’t know what would happen to the hospital that he had owned. He thought that it would probably go to his wife or maybe his family. He didn’t know, either way the Quincies in Japan would know what to do with it. He set it up so that in the case of his death they would know what to do with it. Ryuken’s right hand had moved towards his chest where his Quincy Cross was. It was useless now, but it was an old keepsake. He couldn’t part with something that he had ever since he could remember. Realizing that he was about to do something uncharacteristic of a Shinigami, he quickly averted his hand and moved it to his knee. Ryuken’s mind wandered back to the current conversation and he finally decided to ask his new friend. “How about you. How long have you been in the Gotei? You look younger than me, but I’ve come to learn that looks can be deceiving here at Soul Society. At times I find myself calling a person ‘senpai’ even though said person is older than me. Awkward situation those times are, but you can’t help it, eh?” Ryuken finally stood up and looked at Ken’ichi for a good 3 seconds and then finally asked what he thought would take a good amount of effort and give a great amount of entertainment. “Would you like to spar? It’s been a while since I’ve been able to take my Zanpaktou out for some fresh air… besides… he’s been getting pretty more and more antsy since we picked up on your trail.” In a booming voice that only he heard, the words: “Finally… we can finally have a bit of fun.” |

He rested his hands on his knees, closing his eyes as he just sat there and listened to Ryuken, trying not to look to ignorant. Every now and then he would nod as he listened to the man’s story. He hoped that Ryuken didn’t feel like he was prying into his business. It was strange though, to go from death to the gotei in five years? He hadn’t heard of anyone going through that, hell he couldn’t even remember his own death and just thought that was typical of the transference. Not that he had actually asked anyone else if that was the case with them. He let out a quiet sigh, annoyed at his own ignorance and arrogance not to take such a thing on bored. He glanced up finally towards Ryuken, nodding slightly. “Wow, I can’t believe you actually remember when you died, do you remember anything before your death? I haven’t spoken to many people, especially not about this subject. It’s actually something I’m intrigued by.” He hugged his legs in close to his body, resting his chin against his arms as they crossed a rested against his knees. He couldn’t remember anything, he tried to figure out when it was he had arrived. Maybe it was what your mind naturally done to try and deal with a traumatic experience, he couldn’t tell, maybe if he knew a bit about his life he would be able to pass some form of judgement as to why he wouldn’t remember. He could remember growing up in the Rukangai though, it was rough, every corner he turned there was some form of violence going on. More often than not the streets were stained with blood. Regardless, the setting, the environment all seemed so familiar to him and he could never figure out why... Either way he had only come to be a part of the gotei recently, though he was likely in the graduation class ahead of Ryuken. He looked at his counterpart, watching as his hand rose to his chest, and then swiftly moved away. Ken’ichi wondered for a moment what he had been thinking. Something had obviously begun troubling the man. He wouldn’t pry, if Ryuken felt like it was something that needed to be spoken about, then Ken’ichi would listen, sure, but he wouldn’t push him to say that which he was comfortable talking about. As he asked Ken’ichi a similar question to that which Ken’ichi had asked him, Keni turned his head to look up at the sky, his gaze only partly obscured by the bridge, and the shadow it cast. “The truth? I don’t remember... I can’t remember my life, my death, nothing. My conscious memory vaguely remembers waking up in the Rukangai. In terms of time spent here in the gotei, I joined the academy six years, ago, graduated two years later and then was invited to join the fifth squad. I probably could be seated by now if I really tried, but... I guess I’m just too lazy to push myself when I don’t need to” He glanced up at Ryuken as the man stood up, Ken’ichi following suit. A soft smile formed in reply to the question put to him. A spar, it’d been a long time since he had sparred with anyone, maybe he should do it just to shake away the cobwebs brought on by becoming miles to lax in his position. He was further spurred on when he heard the voice of Ryu’s zanpakuto. He grinned and nodded, one of his hands extending forward, nothing in it at all. Under the black sleeve of his, there was a beautiful red glow which essentially burned away the sleeve after a few moments, into his hand his sword formed still secure in its scabbard. “You take the lead, I’ll follow” Edited by Shruikan, Oct 24 2011, 02:01 PM.

Ryuken was surprised that not many remembered their deaths. Maybe it was the fact that he was a Quincy before and somehow correlated with the fact that his Reiatsu was able to stay intact for the most part to his soul. “I remember it almost as clear as day, but that’s a story for another time.” Grabbing the Kozukas (grip) of his Zanpaktous held in a reverse grip with the blade edge facing towards his opponents, he lifted them and placed them back into his belt at his back. Securing them in place, he grabbed the Kozukas once again and removed his blades from their scabbards. Ryukens eyes glowed with excitement and he got into his stance with blades forward in front of his face. “Alright Terashi… let’s do this” he muttered under his breath. Even though Ryuken’s stance was more a defensive style of sword play, his offense was not lacking, as a great offense is a great defense. However it seemed like his sparring partner did not want to start unless he started, and so Ryuken ran forward left blade in front of his right. As he approached Ken’ichi, he kept an eye on the movement of his hands and Zanpaktou to ensure that he would not be surprised by a counter attack. Feigning a attack with his left blade, he struck with his right, planting a slash at chest level. After his initial slash, regardless of if it was blocked or not, Ryuken would jump away and take up his initial stance. “Nah… I’d rather be following your lead… senpai” Ryuken said with a playful tone. He smirked and kept his eyes on his opponent and invited him to move forward and strike Ryuken so that this spar could really get started. |

He smiled as he noted the surprise in the eyes of Ryuken, he must have had some amount of form of spiritual awareness or something when he was alive, a Quincy maybe, or just a human soul that had been effected by the spiritual pressure of a Shinigami or something, he had known stuff like that to happen, hell that was the reason most Shinigami of lieutenant and captain level had a seal placed upon them when they passed through the gate so that they could lower the chance of effecting the spirits around them. He scratched the back of his neck with his free hand. “Whatever you say, Ryu. I won’t force the point, if you feel like telling I’ll listen, but it isn’t my business, so I won’t force you to tell.” He watched Ryuken taken stance, two swords, one of which had the sense of reiatsu of a proper zanpakuto, the other was clearly a blank. He too felt more comfortable fighting with dual blades from the training he went through at the academy. He figured he knew how to make do though, he drew his zanpakuto, passing it to his left hand, and taking a slight step forward, holding his scabbard in a reverse grip just as he would have if he had a sword in that hand. He held his main zanpakuto in a mid stance, his eyes seeming to glaze over with concentration, but lacking in any form of killing intent. “That’s your zanpakuto’s name? Fine then, Ryuken I would like you to meet Rekka-boufuu!” He brought his zanpakuto out to block the feign, and then felt foolish as that attack never actually flourished. Taking a step he put himself in a position to use his scabbard to parry the attack heading for his chest. The movement left his sword and scabbard switching places with the scabbard taking the forward attacking position and the zanpakuto in the reverse grip. His eyes watched as Ryuken jumped backwards taking his stance. Their stances now seemed to mirror one and other in a sense except Ken’ichi was without a second sword. “Please, don’t call me Sempai... Keni will do just fine!” He said before launching forward, bringing his left arm forward, holding his zanpakuto, slashing it upwards from left to right, holding the scabbard in preparation to defend should he have to. He wasn’t put his all into it, and it was clear to see with how lax his attack was, there wasn’t much power behind it. His smile had dissipated from his features, replaced with a much more serious undertone. |

Ryuken parried the slash at his right with his right blade. Clang. Sparks flew and the sound of metal on metal resounded as the two blades met. Screeching ensued as neither of the blades planned to give way, but that was alright for Ryuken. Using as much force as he could, he would attempt to push his right blade forward. If he was able to make a bit of space between them, Ryuken would follow with a kick at the abdomen. If he succeeded in kicking Ken’ichi, Ryuken would chase after him and attempt to force a surrender on his opponent, but not knowing how lax the man he was fighting would be, he didn’t know what to expect from him if these attacks did succeed or even if they didn’t succeed. “Terashi… what do you think… you think he’ll continue to be this lax? It feels as if there’s a trick behind this. Not using all his strength. A trap maybe?” Be careful young one… I feel that something is off. This conversation had gone in his head, but he was curious to know what his opponent was doing. Was he creating an opportunity for himself to be able to strike him? Was he really that wily and clever? Ryuken readied his mind to watch what events would unfold, and in conjunction to that he would ready his blades to receive trickery or an attack. He just hoped that it would be enough for him to cope with. “I honestly hope you’re not underestimating me… Keni” Edited by Shiyana, Oct 25 2011, 12:20 AM.

![]() ![]() "Listen to my heart.... be as one...." A younger individual sat in a nearby field, adjacent to the one that the two male Shinigami were now sparring in, though there were trees and nature blocking them off from the young girl's mind as well as her senses. At first when she had first come here all she could hear was the water flowing beneath the bridge and the wind brewing around her, the birds chirping. This calmness aided in her meditation. Sakura... my cherry blossom, speak to me.. However much she called out to her Zanpakuto it had been a few days since she had entered her inner world, which in her eyes was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. She had adopted a sort of 'childish' name for her Zanpakuto even though she knew her true name. She still used Sakura no Kaze, or in this instance just Sakura. It seemed as if Hanamiko was blocking her out, but why? Was she bored of the young, innocent Shinigami? Or simply did she not think she had enough power, enough will to actually be a Shinigami and wield her; her zanpakuto. Sure, she was inexperienced however she was learning day by day, since battle wasn't readily taught or even enforced in the 4th division. Chousuki opened her brown orbs and looked around at the field, sighing as she was about to give up and head back to the headquarters. Today she had finished all of her work early just so that she could try and speak with her Zanpakuto; however, Hanamiko just wouldn't listen. Wouldn't let her enter into her inner world. Chou looked down at the small, dark pink tanto lying on her lap. Fine..if you won't listen I'll do it the hard way! she announced, quickly standing up tanto in hand. "Purifying kiss!" she announced, pointing her sheathed tanto towards the sky. It disappeared as sakura pedals started to fall around the young, brunette haired Shinigami. What appeared in place of the short bladed weapon was a metal colored object that seemed to resemble a japanese fan. Chou had to deal with the weight of the new form; she had felt it before however she still was not used to its weight. She adjusted her grip on her now released Zanpakuto. The young girl had much determination in her eyes now, however deep down she wondered if she could do this when her Zanpakuto didn't seem to be on speaking terms with her. There was a glint of red in her glass brown orbs as she stepped forward, trying to figure out a stance. She had learned many from the academy, however none seemed to feel comfortable with the weight of the fan. One would wonder if once she mastered most of her Zanpakuto (was on terms with her) that her Shikai form would feel less and thus she would be able to wield her better. Chou found a pretty comfortable stance, though it still felt a bit awkward as she waved her arm back and forth trying to make her wrist flow as well but with the weight of the fan it was harder than she thought it would be. She continued with the movement and as she slowly found it easier, a wind seemed to form from the fan as she moved it back and forth. She didn't quite notice it however and continued on with the movements. Back and forth, back and forth. Much like one would do when fanning someone, however moving the arm back and forth as well. By doing this she began to get a flow for it. This isn't too hard... she thought to herself. However, by doing so she lost her train of thought. Her hand twisting sideways some and the fan flew from her hand. The wind seemed to carry it and the next thing she knew she was chasing after it through the forest.... The fan would make it way towards where the two male shinigami were sparring, the fan spiraled back and forth through the air. The ends of the fan were sharp and dangerous. It flew between them, however a bit overhead and then finally made impact with the ground a few feet away. As it hit the ground however, Sakura no Kaze transformed back into her sealed form and clattered to the ground instead. The two shinigami would have probably heard the woosh sound as Sakura passed overhead. Chousuki was making her way through the small line of trees, wondering where in the world her Zanpakuto had gone... |

The sparks upon collision with Ryukens blade soared past Ken’ichi’s eyes, illuminating his features. He glared towards Ryuken, not a hint of the lax person that had been half asleep when the man had first arrived, but not yet an utter seriousness. He wasn’t taking it easy on this man on purpose, he wasn’t even playing around, he was simply testing out the extent of the man’s abilities before so he knew just how much energy he would have to put into fighting back. No need to put in more than was needed right. He felt Ryuken push, and allowed it to happen, letting his body go into a slight spin, following the momentum and letting his scabbard block the attempted kick. As he spun he said. “Not bad, Ryu. But it’ll take more than that...” As his spin was coming to an end, he had traded the blade and scabbard hands so the sword was now in his right hand, and just about to thrust forward at the throat of his new comrade in time to meet what would be Ryuken’s attempt at a surge to put an early end to the spar. Ken’ichi had no intention of being stopped so easily, he wasn’t that weak, nor was he that easy that he would get defeated without even so much as a little fight. He wasn’t one for violence normal, and he hated training but if he was put into a position where he had to train, he wouldn’t just lay down and let himself be defeated, he had some degree of honor at the very least. “Underestimating? Never, but it’s always nice to size an opponent out before going all out, someone in a rush puts himself in danger of premature termination!” Before he could finish the attack he was following through on, his eye caught something landing a short distance away, and instead of continuing with the attack, he turned his body slightly, going into a shoulder roll out of the way of Ryuken, just like that he was back on his feet, sword in one hand, scabbard in the other, and glancing around to see if he could find the source of the mysterious zanpakuto that landed randomly near them. “Who throws a sword? That’s just dangerous... don’t ya think Ryuken?!” |

Realizing that a razor sharp fan had come between the two, Ryuken stopped his charge and jumped away from the battlefield. Ryuken flung his Zanpaktous back into their sayas and moved closer to the Zanpaktou that had fallen to the ground. Picking up the now unreleased form of the Zanpaktou he emulated Ken’ichi to find the source of the Zanpaktou. He remembered which way the fan flew from, which was from the treeline to the north. A northern wind. He didn’t really know if all of the temperatures and all of the winds would be the same as on earth, since a northern wind would’ve been cold. Yet he wasn’t really to sure what the wind felt like at all. It seemed like just a normal breeze, nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary, but obviously nothing ordinary about it either. Ryuken looked at Ken’ichi and nodded at his comment. “Very dangerous indeed. I don’t think it’d have been nice if either one of us were hit with that. An interesting surprise to have whilst fighting one another, but nonetheless, it can’t be ignored.” Ryuken held the Zanpaktou began to analyze it. It had sakura blossoms all around the saya which was quite beautiful. It was small, much smaller than his own kodachis which were shorter than most Zanpaktous already. He unsheathed the tanto and continued to examine the blade. It was a silver blade that glistened against the sun. The light that was reflected flashed against his face and planted the light into his eye. He turned it side to side and rubbed his finger against the front and back of the blade. The blade was sharp, so Ryuken would move along the edge slowly. Ryuken held it to see its balance and usefulness and then resheathed the tanto back into its saya. “Whoever this belongs to, it doesn’t seem like she’d use it in combat all that much. It’s smaller than most Zanpaktou that you see, and even smaller than my my kodachis. This is meant to be hidden. But if this is carried by a shinigami, then this would be easily seen. Pink and black are very contrasting colors.” Ryuken was bewildered. He was sure that it was a fan before. Someone had released their shikai and lost control of their Zanpaktou. “Definitely shinigami, easily concealed. I have no idea why…” “Maybe one does not does not like to show their blade. Maybe one dislikes using her weapon. Were you not so inclined to saving people against the hollows, I doubt you would have ever used your bow… Terashi spoke into Ryuken’s mind so that only he could hear. Ryuken sighed and nodded at the fact. He was a doctor at one point so he knew what he was getting into when he first shot his first arrow. |

![]() The young brunette faired Shinigami felt embarrassed that she had lost control of her Zanpakuto; which had practically flown off through the tree line somewhere. She wasn't as experienced as some of the other Shinigamis out there and didn't like asking for help especially power wise so she resorted to doing things by herself, in private. And now she had pretty much lost her Zanpakuto; something that was precious to all of the Shinigami in the Seireitei. Her cheeks flushed a bit red as she walked past branches of many plants that lined the line of trees, her eyes looking frantically around. On the other side of the trees however, two male Shinigamis had encountered her Zanpakuto which had transformed into its sealed form. Sakura practically hissed as male hands touched her blade and held her. Looking at the Sealed Zanpakuto intently. It was different from many of the other Zanpakutos that the others wielded. Shorter in length and as the one male examined the blade one would see that it had hardly ever been used. None to any scratches marred the metal surface, and the edge of the blade remained as sharp as it had been since it had been made. Chou wondered if she would ever find her Zanpakuto. She let out a heavy sigh, her brown orbs wandering around. The thought then occurred to her that this probably wasn't the best method to look for Sakura no Kaze. Closing her eyes, she tried to calm her mind, however frantic it was. She then tried to communicate with Sakura, to try and sense her power. A Zanpakuto and its Shinigami had a connection, that even separated they could feel. She could feel her Zanpakuto's power, however faint it was a bit further from where she was, beyond the line of trees. Keeping her eyes closed she walked forward and came to beyond the trees, looking out she saw two men standing the distance. Their power now blocked out most of her Zanpakuto's however it had been in that direction. She played with the hem of her uniform's sleeve, debating whether or not to go over there or not. She wasn't very social, especially with those she had never met before. Glancing at the ground she took a small gulp and took a step forward. If she was to find her Zanpakuto and/or get it back she would have to get up some courage. As she grew closer, she noticed her pink tanto in one of the male shinigami's hands. Her cheeks flushed more as she grew closer and more embarrassed. She came close enough and her stature was that of a young, timid Shinigami. Looking down she thought of what to say, her fingers playing with the hem of her sleeve as her eyes glanced at the Zanpakuto. "Stupid child..." Hanamiko beamed at her, not liking the fact that she was being handled by a man. Chou didn't know much about her Zanpakuto yet besides her name and small details. However, one might note that she perhaps did not like men. Sorry...Hanamiko, I-I'll be more careful next time.. she said, speaking to her Zanpakuto, apologizing. "Uh...excuse me, I t-think you have my Zanpakuto.." she said embarrassedly. What would they think about somebody losing their Zanpakuto? |

Now outside of battle, he slid his zanpakuto back into the scabbard, holding it out and not even blinking as it disappeared once more from sight, Rekka-Boufuu was always there for him, he never had to carry her to show that... such was the nature of their relationship. He walked over to Ryuken, his hand’s sliding deep into his pockets as he glanced down at the zanpakuto. It was a funny little thing, to bright to be normal, not exactly on the big side either. He deduced that it must belong to someone of the forth squad, they were the only squad he could think of that would have such a vibrant, yet not quite so combat ready style sword, if one could even call it a sword. It did have a degree of beauty that he had to admire. “Ah well, no harm done... probably came in at the right time to, if the fight had continued, it may have become bothersome... I really don’t feel like bleeding today.” His smile returned to his features, looking like the peaceful young man that he had been just minutes before a sword had even been drawn. One of his hands slipped from his pocket to rub his tired neck. He hadn’t trained in such a long time that he was excruciatingly out of practice but he had fun, it was nice to have someone to relax and spar with. His eyes returned to the sword again, worst came to it, if no one came to collect he would take it to the forth division taichou, maybe they would know of whom it belonged. Though... having to deal with a taichou, he hated that, he tried to evade being seen by the taichou’s, well other than his, he couldn’t be bothered with the looks he got half the time. “Great deduction, I believe you are right. My guess, whoever uneducated it may come across, is that it belongs to a non-combat squad, and if that’s the case the only one I can think of is the forth. They are the squad assigned to the maintenance and health of soul society. The shinigami of the squad are generally healers or give support in other such similar ways.” He glanced up at Ryuken, he was away in his own world again, most likely talking to his zanpakuto, or he was thinking to himself, as shinigami, sometimes it was difficult to tell the difference between either. His free hand slid back into his pocket once more and waited for Ryuken to come back to his senses. His senses picked up the other shinigami before she had even gotten close, sensing how embarrassed she was he didn’t look up towards her, not yet anyway. A few moments past and she finally spoke; he looked up to her and smiled his brightest most peaceful smile. “So you are the owner. Don’t look so worried, we won’t bite. Well I definitely won’t. Ryu, give the girl back her zanpakuto” He grinned to Ryu for a moment, then glancing back to Chou, a slight blush coming to his cheeks. She was cute, and timid by the looks of things, but definitely cute. |
